As empathetic culinary professionals, we wanted to extend this service at Johnny & Elle’s Rustic Gourmet.
Turano French Rolls are prominent in Chicagoland for Italian beef, Italian sausage, cold cut sandwiches, and a side of garlic bread from local pizza joints. Its a gluten heavy, springy roll that holds up when steamed or dipped into Italian beef gravy and is a necessity for many of you out there to get that perfect Italian beef sandwich outside of the Chicago area.
Rosen’s Poppyseed Buns are the essential go to for hot dog joints across Chicagoland. We did not know, and still kind of find it hard to believe, that poppyseed buns are not available across the nation. We always knew they were essential to having a classic Chicago dog, but we did not know they don’t really exist outside of the area.
So these two offerings from Johnny & Elle are not actually ours, but we do want to continue offering this service to our longstanding, and new, clientelle that relies on us for this service.
