Each batch of gourmet nougat is handmade by Johnny with a pot and his classic Kitchenaid mixer. This “Johnny Special” is base local honey nougat with toasted pistachios for salty, smoky flavors to offset the slightly bitter sweet dried cranberries, balanced with the light nuttiness of sliced almonds. Hand pressed into a form, cooled, and lined with edible delicate rice paper to prevent the nougat from sticking.

Using real cane sugar and local honey as sweeteners not only assist with a chewy, soft textured nougat, but the earthy, woody flavors of honey help to open up your tastebuds to the smoky, salty toasted pistachios. The bitter sweet cranberries help to enhance the contrasting floral and fruity sliced almonds.

What makes ours excellent: Made by hand, each and every batch, from curated, high quality ingredients. Each batch is hand pressed into a mold to cool before cutting, allowing the nougat to ‘tighten up’ and meld the flavors together.
